Hello to everyone
Thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome, It will be a great chance to meet new people and learn as much as I can along the way. As I live in Tassie I'm limited to people in the industry. As I'm new I'll give a short rundown on myself..
I'm 25 years old and became infatuated with the world of figure about 12 months ago with the help and encouragement of my husband (Chris) We got married in March '07 after just 6 months together and of all places where did we meet? The Gym!! I went through a break up of 6 years and needed something to do with my life so I went and got my first Gym membership in Jan '06. I train in Launceston at Health and Fitness and have great support there as myself and another girl I think in Tassie that compete.. So after a little encouragement from my husband and a few other people at the gym I decided to set my goal for my first comp INBA Victoria in October this year. That gave me 7 months to loose lots of kg's and try and keep as much of my mature muscle and learn as much as I could along the way. I found www.bodybuilding.com on the net and that also was a great help and support. I have a trainer at the gym that competed in Olympia years ago and his daughter lives in WA and competes also. But my biggest support and help was Chris he trains with me and hopefully we will do couples sometime in the near future.. As I was lucky enough to have been born with muscle and my upbringing on a farm and sporting life with swimming and running for the state, I have an advantage to be able to build on. I found the diet very strange and hard but with that came results. I started diet 16 weeks out allowing myself one cheat day a week until 4 weeks out then it went to a meal a week. My starting weight was 67kg and 26% B/F and I was stage weight 55kg and 10% B/f. I was very proud of what I achieved in such a short time. I lost a bit of muscle but was very happy how I looked on stage. To win my first comp not even seeing one before I was rapped.. The girls I met were great, I met Charlotte and a few others that I'm sure to compete against next time. I'm hoping only to put on 5-7kg between now and March where I'll compete in Intermediate Vic INBA. And build my shoulders and back width between now and then. As I still class myself as clueless, I will be studying every figure competitor's blogs and hopefully build my knowledge on final prep to be able to come in slightly leaner and harder for March.. Take care everyone and send me a line would love to hear from you....
